It has been a long hiatus for me from my blog. There have been a couple reasons for this but the main one was because I am very computer illiterate and was unable to do some basic updates. But I am BACK. The look is cleaner and updates will finally be coming. Stay tuned!

Maryland Engagement Photographer | lake artemesia
Seems to me people are getting engaged these days- left and right. Engagements are my favorite. It is the time that I get to know the couple- get to know their love. Honestly sometimes I just watch the way they interact and forget I actually have to take pictures. Yes I get caught up in the moment!!
Morning light has to be my favorite. It has this softness to it; so when my clients decide to wake up butt early for their shoot to take advantage of that light- I already know it’s going to be a great session. Ghayda and Mejdi meet up with me at Lake Artemesia one early morning to do their engagement session. Lake Artemesia is one of my favorite spots to feed the geese but I never photographed there so I was super excited. Also I have photographed Ghayda prior so I already knew the camera loves her but boy did she work it and make my job way toooo easy.
Maryland Maternity Photographer
I won’t even touch the subject about my lack of blogging- lol. I will just say that I am back. Finally I am in the country for a good while. This year I have already traveled abroad three times and we aren’t even halfway through the year. Again I am super blessed for the career I have. Never in my wildest dreams would I have imagined getting PAID to go Aruba to do what I love- PHOTOGRAPH!!!
Now I will leave you with this maternity session. I love to shoot using the sun as my light source but sometimes I do like to bust out the strobes! Cannot wait to meet and photograph the baby girl in that tummy. Note: I REALLY luck out with HOT clients!!

Engagement Session: J & B
It is always lovely to meet a couple in love. We meet a couple weeks ago in Georgetown, Washington DC. Although it was a WINDY day they braved it and here are the results!
Hope Bolivia is treating you both well!!
Mr Hendrix
Second day in a row blogging but that’s about to end cause I am heading to Peru tomorrow. =)
Again I truly enjoy capturing both Maternity and Newborn sessions. It allows me to get to know the family and gets me super excited to meet the baby. Here is Hendrix (love the name!) at two weeks exactly. As you can see he is so fortunate to have an older brother to take care of him. And aren’t you totally digging his hair??!!!
Some maternity shots:

Baby C- Baltimore newborn photographer
Yea I know I stopped blogging.- no excuse.
Anyways I wanted to blog this newborn session. I have been waiting for this baby to pop out since I did the maternity shoot. I love when people book me for both the Maternity and Newborn Sesssion. For the newborn session I went up to Baltimore get meet the lil guy. I tried to mix it up and get some lifestyle portraits. I love posing babies but I also wanted to capture just some casual pictures.
Beautiful image from our maternity session back in November.
Hooray for the the last picture!- Literally the last shot I took.
Personal: The Jacket
If you are here for a photography post- this ain’t one, so you can bounce now!
Everyone- well maybe not everyone- has The Jacket, The Dress or The Jeans. The Jacket they buy- a little too snug, a little like two sizes smaller than your actual size. When you buy it you say: “I am totally going to lose the weight.. this jacket will be my motivation.” It’s shameful for me to admit that I bought this jacket about two years ago for $135 and I haven’t worn it. I would take it out sometimes and try it zip is up and oh, it was still too tight. Well now I want to wear it. No, really I am determined to. My weight issues started in high school. I have always felt chubby but now I feel chubby-fat. My cheeks, my soccer thighs, ugh I can go on. It really can put a damper on my day and impede me from going places and seeing people- cause I have nothing to wear and I just don’t want them to see me like this. Sadly it has also kept me from in FRONT of the camera. I have few very few pictures of me this year. An now I just WISH I had those moments recorded. Here is a very touching blog post by Deb Schwedhelm on why YOU shouldn’t let the your weight stop you from having your pictures taken: http://www.debsphotographs.com/photoblog/2010/05/is-there-a-perfect-time/
Anyways thank goodness it’s winter, right?! I have been living in jackets, sweaters- whatever just to hide these extra pounds. I don’t want to hide anymore. I am done. I started my diet on Monday with scrambled white eggs and since I have enjoyed salads, water and green tea. Honestly I just want to put this in writing for myself. I want to make myself accountable. I know some of us have made this our New Year’s resolution- so BEST of LUCK!! I will keep you updated on my progress- thanks for reading.
My jacket- it just screams EMILY- I love anything with the diamond pattern like that.

This little chunkster is going to be a stylish one. Already sporting a mohawk and riding daddy’s bike!!!! A lil over two weeks, a lil over 10 pds and he was AMAZING to work with.
